MBCC TH 21st July'23 - "Hedge Funds are blowing up this last week - what this means for your long/short portfolio?"
Sometimes the market is MORe about how it is set up than the numbers per se. This is the case the last week as the significant outflows in the consensual LONGS have killed the retail funds/hedgies who are long the same names. At the same time, the SHORTS are getting squeezed. At a time when everyone is maxed out on GROSS leverage, the risk is of DERISKING further.
What does this mean to your long/short book? How to be positioned here?
